Even There – September 30 2015

PrayerLife Tracy ArtWhere shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol (The realm of death), you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me” (Psalm 139:7-10).

There is no place we can go and there is no experience or any season of life that we can be walking in where God is not present.  What ever we may be experiencing today … God is intimately aware and personally present.

Too Wonderful – September 29 2015

PrayerLife Tracy ArtThe writer of Psalm 139 declares that God’s intimate knowledge of him was too wonderful for him to grasp. “Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it” (Psalm 139:4-6). Read Psalm 139 and allow God’s truth to minister to your soul.

Acquainted With All My Ways – September 28 2015

PrayerLife Tracy ArtPsalm 139 reveals God’s intimate knowledge of us. Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways” (vv. 1-3).

We are completely known, totally accepted and unconditionally loved. When we grasp this profound truth, there is remarkable security and freedom in our walk with God.

Wisdom and the Word of God – September 27 2015

PrayerLife Tracy ArtGod’s Word, the Bible, is a vital way for you and I to acquire wisdom. As we expose our hearts to its life-giving truths, we learn wisdom. Since wisdom is so valuable for living life well, personal time reading God’s word is essential for our happiness and fulfillment.

The Fear of the Lord – September 26 2015

PrayerLife Tracy ArtThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10).  Having a holy reverence for God and seeking to walk according to his truth is to be the guiding motivation of our heart. When we rightly honor God, we are on the road of wisdom.

Asking God For Wisdom – September 25 2015

PrayerLife Tracy Art“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” (James 1:5). God is the source of all wisdom and He invites us to ask Him for it and He promises to generously give it to us. There very thing we all need, God promises to provide if we will simply ask Him for it.

The Value of Wisdom – September 24 2015

PrayerLife Tracy ArtWisdom is the skill of living life well – in harmony with God’s principles. The Bible compares the value of having wisdom to the value of silver and hidden treasure (Prov. 2:4). We are to search God’s word for wisdom with the same passion and drive we would have if we were using an ancient map to find buried treasure.

The Role of Parental Discipline – September 23, 2015

PrayerLife Tracy ArtThe role of a parent for instilling wisdom into the heart of a child is vital. Proverbs 22:15 says, “Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.” Foolishness is already present in young lives. The role of a parent is to remove foolishness through loving discipline and instill wisdom.

The Value of a Parent’s Input – September 22 2015

PrayerLife Tracy ArtWe learn wisdom from our parents. The Old Testament book of Proverbs says, “Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching; for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck (Proverbs 1:8-9).

All our lives we will be responding to authority.  Whether it is a teacher, a coach, a supervisor, or a police officer, we all need to respond to authority appropriately. Responding to the authority of our parents is where we learn this valuable skill and its benefits will last us a lifetime.
